Silent Seal® is a mine ventilation sealant. Silent Seal expands and seals in seconds to quickly and efficiently seal, insulate, fill, coat and sound dampen many areas above ground and underground. Created exclusively for mining, this product adheres to coal, steel, concrete, wood and most other substrates.

Silent Seal was developed with the user in mind. The high flow rate of the Handi-Gun® dispensing unit allows for increased productivity, accurate metering, flow control and reduced waste. The patented packaging was also created for ease of use with the handle secured to the tank collars, allowing the kit to be used and transported, even if the box gets wet or damaged. The high optic yellow color of Silent Seal increases underground visibility.

Fomo offers two product formulations - Silent Seal NA, and Silent Seal SA. Silent Seal NA has been deemed suitable by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) for use by mine operators without wearing a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus or a Supplied Air Breathing Apparatus. MSHA’s testing concluded that Fomo’s Silent Seal® does not create a harmful environment for workers when used with Fomo’s patented Handi-Gun® dispensing unit. Silent Seal® also passed MSHA testing for ASTM E-162, a surface flammability test.  Silent Seal SA meets South Africa Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) flame, smoke and toxicity testing standards.
